You will find a small selection of artistic stoneware pottery, made by Francine in her workshop on the farm. Vases, plates, salad bowls, teapots, made on the wheel or by hand, are often decorated with impressions of shells, stones or leaves.
The items are fired first at 980C, immersion- or ladle-glazed, and then fired a second time at 1280C in the gas furnace. The glazes, made from vine, olive or firewood ash and coloured with iron oxides, copper and cobalt, will reveal colours that reflect nature following the touch of the flame.
